Why should I have my Power Steering Fluid flushed? |
||
|
Most drivers encounter problems with their power steering at one time or another, whether it's a fluid leak, noise, stiff steering, or hard turning at the beginning of their commute. Normal driving will cause the power steering to heat up, under go friction, and electrochemical degradation. What is very damaging to this fluid is when a hard turn is held. Power steering fluid starts out as a clear liquid, but will turn dark with age. This is caused by sludge and varnish deposits building up in your power steering system and affect the handling and steering of your car. Our technicians safely remove these deposits and remove wear metals that grind away your power steering's internal components, including the hoses, pump, rack and pinion, and or gear box. While doing so the seals and o-rings are revitalized by the new clean power steering fluid and conditioners. It is best to have this done every 30,000 miles, or about every 10 oil changes, especially if your fluid is showing signs of contamination. Make sure to do this before it becomes a major expense. |
